0000 fine steel wool (also known as quadruple zero steel wool) is an essential tool for guitar finishing, polishing, and fretwork. Its ultra-fine grade makes it perfect for smoothing out Tru-Oil finishes between coats, de-glossing satin finishes, or giving fretboards and frets a gentle, non-abrasive clean.

Luthiers and techs also use it to:

• Smooth and level oil finishes
• Remove haze or overspray
• Polish frets without scratching
• Clean metal parts and hardware

This grade is non-scratching on wood and metal when used properly. For best results, always clean up particles and dust after use—especially near pickups or electronics.
