Heat shrink tubing can be used to isolate solder connections in guitar electronics. It can be used to cover the solder connections on pots, switches and output jacks. Using heat shrink tubing will help prevent circuit malfunctions. Next to that it looks good too.

Apply heat (preferably a heat gun but a lighter works as well)  briefly to the heat-shrink tubing. The tubing will shrink to approximately half its diameter to become an insulator for wire connections.
