Birchwood Casey Tru-Oil is a trusted finish among guitar builders and repair pros worldwide. Originally developed for gunstocks, it’s become a favorite for use on guitar necks, headstocks, and even full bodies, delivering a smooth, hand-rubbed finish that enhances grain and feels great in the hand.
It dries quickly, builds up easily, and can be buffed to a satin or high-gloss sheen depending on your application method and number of coats.
Whether you’re restoring a neck or finishing a custom build, Tru-Oil is easy to use and produces beautiful, long-lasting results, even without a spray booth.

Pro Tip:
Apply thin coats with a soft cloth or your fingertip. Allow each coat to fully dry, lightly smooth with steel wool or Micro-Mesh, and build up to the desired depth and sheen. Finish with a light buff for a glassy or satin touch.
